CDBG PY 2024 Public Service Application Available for City Departments and Nonprofit Organizations

July 10, 2023

Application and guidebook for public service activities available here.

Since 1974, Euclid has been an Entitlement Community, where federal grant funding is received by the City directly from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The funding allows the City to implement various projects and programs that benefit Low- to Moderate- Income households and individuals. These activities include housing programs, economic development activities, public improvements, and limited public services.

Federal appropriations for HUD funding, including CDBG, are set by the United Staes Congress, and funding levels may change. Therefore, the City of Euclid is projected to receive approximately $900,000.00 in PY 2024.

The City of Euclid is allowed to expend up to 15% of the annual allocation for Public Services, to be carried out by City departments or nonprofit organizations. Such activities include, but are not limited to, senior citizen programs, youth recreation programs, food pantries, and services for people with disabilities.

Based on the projected funding for PY 2024, the City anticipates $135,000.00 to be made available for Public Services.

The City of Euclid has developed an application for both City departments and nonprofit organizations to apply for Public Service activities. The application and guidebook are both found here.

All Applications for Public Service Activities are due no later than 4:00 PM on Monday, August 14, 2023 to the City of Euclid Department of Planning and Development – 585 E. 222 Street, Euclid, OH 44123. Applications are to be submitted digitally via email at: planning@cityofeuclid.com.
