What is Urban Forestry?
Each city’s Urban Forest is unique, but encompasses all trees within a city boundary, consisting of street trees, park trees, natural forested areas and trees on private property. The urban forest does not refer only to the trees, but how residents interact with them and the impact of trees on the community as a whole. Trees and green space are now considered as essential as other critical infrastructure and requires attention and resources to keep functioning as efficiently as possible.
A healthy Urban Forest has many benefits to residents: Benefits of Trees.
As The Lakefront City, Euclid has some wonderful geological and environmental assets that impact both trees and residents. With Lake Erie forming the northern boundary of the City, the southern boundary consists of a segment of the Portage Escarpment.
