Planning for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Activities for 2023 to Begin Soon

August 18, 2022

The City of Euclid will be soliciting proposals from City Departments and local nonprofit organizations, for financial support through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), provided by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Since 1974, Euclid has been an Entitlement Community, where grant funding is received by the City directly from HUD. The funding allows the City to implement various projects and programs that benefit Low- to Moderate- Income households and individuals, relating to housing, economic development, public improvements, and public service. In 2022, the City of Euclid received $1,007,533.00 from HUD.

There will be a two-part application process, and a series of public meetings between September and November 2022. Both applications will be made available on the City of Euclid’s website at www.cityofeuclid.com. See pre-application here

The proposals will be reviewed by the City of Euclid Department of Planning and Development, as well as the Community Development Block Grant Citizens Advisory Committee, which is a 14-member committee dedicated to advising and guiding the direction of Euclid’s annual CDBG funding. Meetings and actions for planning will be underway between September and December of 2022 to prepare for 2023.
