Euclid Recreation Department Hosts “Skating with a Cop”

December 28, 2021

Police and Firefighters from both Euclid and Richmond Heights participated in this fun community event.

Saturday, December 18th, Euclid Recreation hosted their “Skating with a Cop” event at C.E Orr Ice Arena. Representatives from Euclid and Richmond Heights police departments, Euclid and Richmond Heights fire departments, area first responders and even Mayor Kirsten Holtzheimer Gail all laced up their skates to have some well-deserved fun with some of our local families.

Admission and skate rental were both free for the event, and less confident skaters were provided with ice-rink parking cones to help them maintain balance. Several residents who attended said it was their first time visiting the ice rink, and even their first time ice- skating!

The C.E. Orr Ice area, managed by Euclid Recreation Program Administrator Hannah Zavorek, plays host to hockey tournaments, ice skating lessons for both children and adults, and open ice skating sessions throughout the season. For more information about the ice arena, or to view their current schedule, visit cityofeuclid.com or the Euclid Recreation Facebook page.
