Intersection improvements at Euclid Avenue and East 260th / Richmond Rd (Southwest and Northeast Corners) are now nearing completion. This improvement project- including road widening, traffic signal replacement, curb ramps, a new retaining wall, improved transit waiting area and pedestrian crosswalk enhancements- is now in the final phase of completion and looking great.
The Euclid Ave. / Richmond Rd. improvements are a part Euclid Avenue’s Transportation for Livable Communities Initiative (TLCI) plan, and were contracted as efforts to better accommodate industrial traffic and create a smooth gateway from Richmond Heights to the major I-271 and 90 highways.
Foot traffic was also forethought for this busy pedestrian intersection. Safer widened sidewalks, accessible curb ramps and an improved transit waiting area were made a priority to properly accommodate the needs of the community.
This particular project was contracted to S.E.T Inc, and was funded with a grant support from Northeast Ohio Area Coordinating Agency (NOACA) in partnership with Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT).
The Euclid / Richmond project is scheduled to be fully completed before the end of 2021 in preparation for a 2022 TLCI project aiming to resurface Euclid Avenue in its entirety.
