Due to issues caused from a fire at the leaf recycling facility we are not currently collecting leaves. Once the facility is cleared to accept leaves we will resume pick up. Thank you for your patience during this time.

We have finished the 250-260 Section and are currently collecting leaves North of Lakeshore. We are at 280 and Edgecliff working West.

We finished the 260- 272 Section. We are currently collecting in the F and S section We Started Working the outside of Walnut at E. 272. We are working to Forestview.

We are Currently working in the 260 - 280 Section. We are collecting on the Lloyd - E. 275 block working East.

We Started Collecting The Hills Working East to West from Hillandale. We are Currently collecting leaves in the Kapel Section. We are on the Chatworth - Glenbrook block working West.

10/23/2023 - We Started collecting leaves today At Upper valley in the Indian hills section and worked east to E.221/Dansy.

A note from Streets Manager Tom Bildstein:

It's everyone’s favorite season: leaf season! Leaf collection will begin this year on OCTOBER 23rd. This season we will be picking leaves much like we have in years past. Leaf collection crews will begin pickup of leaves (just leaves) and move section to section until they reach the end of the city. Once this has been completed the crews will start all over again. Leaf collection is NOT on garbage day. You do not need to worry if your garbage was picked up but your leaf piles remain. Our hard working crews will make sure your pile is taken care of.

There are a few things that residents can do to help our crews. Leaf piles should be placed as close to the curb as possible, but not in the street. Our tubes only reach so far so the closer you get them to the curb the better. The reason we ask you not to place your leaves in the street is because they can clog catch basins and cause flooding. Also your neighbors don’t appreciate when the snow plows push them in their yard when the snow finally hits. We can’t see leaf piles under the snow. Please do not add sticks, brush, or grass to your leaf pile. The dump will not take this debris and they really do a number on our equipment. If the equipment becomes damaged and we are unable to use it we most definitely will be moving slower.

If it’s at all possible to avoid putting leaves under short trees and wrapping them around trees, that would be much appreciated. Fire hydrants also need to be clear of leaves for emergency reasons. Please be considerate of your neighbors. I know it’s hard to tell when the leaf trucks are coming (not everyone can check the website for updates) but piles can be missed and passed up because equipment is unable to get in to the area and pick them up when cars are parked in front of them. Please refrain from using your leaf blowers while our crews are working on your property. Blowing leaves and other debris at the workers while they are working can cause injury.
